FH Option Help!

Sample FH Option Notes A common dilemma for engine spec.ing is FH selection. The CPP option information section of each engine home page allows you ( in most cases ) to select from a variety of FH sizes. The question then becomes, which of the FH options are acceptable? To assist in answering the question, click on any MM option and open the installation drawing PDF. A title box on the drawing will show what FH the mounting was designed for. Should you want the same SAE size but a different option ( wet vs dry, iron vs aluminum ) you only need to compare the FH's starter location, mounting pad location/dimensions and the housing's thickness to decide if the FH is an acceptable substitute.

Remote Mount Panels and Throttle Extensions

When ordering a control panel for an ecm controlled engine, you may take advantage of the panel's ability to be mounted remotely. We supply 12 and 24 foot extension harnesses for that purpose. 100 feet of extension harness combinations is the most allowed. The electronic "hand throttle" is also available for remote mounting. The throttle is designed to be plugged into the control panel, therefore it moves with the panel, without requiring an extension harness as well. You only need an throttle extension harness if you want to separate the throttle from the control panel. The throttle extension limit is also 100 feet. The maximum, combined extension of panel and harness is 100 feet. e.g. if you move the panel 75 feet, the throttle can only be extended an additional 25 feet.

News for Emergency Stop Users

Drawing File CPP has a five amp fuse in the harness from the engine ecm to the CPP supplied control panel. It sits in the wire going from the ecm to the 31 pin connector, pin number one. E-stops users can access this fuse to accomplish their task, easier then cutting into the harness. A suggested diagram for wiring an e-stop, using the 5 amp fuse connection is available here.
